Hampshire Franklin Children's Day Care Center

Hampshire Franklin Children's Day Care Center – History

The Hampshire-Franklin Children's Day Care Center is an outgrowth of the Hampshire Children's Cooperative which was housed at Hampshire College in the early '70s and moved to the Friends Meetinghouse in Leverett in 1974. The Children's Cooperative incorporated as the Hampshire-Franklin Children's Day Care Center in 1976. Since July of 1987, the Center has occupied a 2,200 square foot building set on 2 acres along Route 63 in Leverett. Originally conceived as a parent collective, HFCDC is now run by a parent-staff Board of Directors.
